Set the mood in the master bedroom decor

When decorating the master bedroom the first place to start is with the colour which will give you your first impression and will set the mood, you will also need to think about how you will approach using the colour as too much can implode the space and too little can wash everything out. For a themed bedroom look at the signature colours that represent that theme and either have a feature wall in the chosen colour or create a base with the walls and floor and add the colour with the bedding, furnishings and accessories.

Next is to think about how you would like your bedroom to function for you, do you need a quiet retreat or an escape with a luxury resort feel, or a romantic warm decor that expresses your passions and taste. Perhaps a modern functional bedroom that is easy to maintain has an uncluttered feel that embraces its outlook, or if your bedroom lacks a wow and a focal point, then a bed canopy could take it to the next level in interest.

Canopy beds or the four poster beds have always been a symbol of love, romance and prestige, and if you have always wanted a bed canopy but thought they were too expensive, you'll be happy to know that they're not as costly as you may have thought and they are really easy to get online.  If you like the idea of a bed canopy then think about what material you would like, most bed canopies are available in cotton materials and cotton weave or polyester mosquito netting in a variety of colours and designs.

The main difference in these canopies is firstly the cost as cotton is usually twice the price and if you want to dye your canopy then cotton would be the choice. You can either go for the box canopy designs which can be hung with four ceiling hooks, or the round bed canopies which only need one hook. In order to create a four poster bed look then the box nets will be a perfect choice.

Decorating your kid’s bedroom can be easy and fun and inexpensive

With a combination of inexpensive furniture form IKEA or target for example, or some second-hand furniture sanded down and varnished or re-painted, try your local garage sales. Then think about painting one wall a feature colour, especially if the other walls are in good condition, or alternatively a subtle soft tone on all the walls, and a neutral carpet or wooden floor with accent rugs. Take the  time and think about the right way to create and accessorise the bedroom, it can be cheaper than you think.

Firstly it will depend on your child’s favourite colour and getting a shade that is near, but also a modern in vogue colour, as this will save you heaps in trying to find the right coloured accessories, such as bedding , rugs and furnishings, which will be in plentiful supply at your local stores. Once you  have worked out where your child likes to hang out in their room and how they use it , then it will be time to purchase a bed canopy / mosquito net to really top of the room. When choosing the type of canopy think about what its main use will be, for example it may create a hideaway for your child in the daytime or a place to hang out, or used as a mosquito net or bad dream catcher at night, or create a fairytale theme to your girls bedroom decor.

The colour of the bed canopy or mosquito net could add a contrast to the rooms colour or for a fresh clean modern look you can’t go wrong with white. It will depend on the colour of the bedroom you choose and how much colour is already on the walls. If you have gone for a neutral toned wall decor then a coloured net will add a real impression and lift the room.

What is the difference between a cotton mosquito net and a polyester mosquito net?

What is the difference between a cotton mosquito net and a polyester mosquito net? Well the answer is not as straightforward as you think and depends on a few individual factors.
Firstly you will have to consider the cost, as a cotton canopy usually is more than twice the cost of a polyester bed canopy.

It will depend on what effect and feel you want for your bedroom decor, some people just prefer the natural material  over the man-made materials due to being more environmentally conscious and also preferring the luxurious feel of cotton.

With cotton you are able to dye the cotton to your preferred shade, but the polyester net is a good solution for outside as they are waterproofed, and if you live in a highly humid location they repel the water.
The polyester netting will be a lighter material to use and carry on your travels and can be easier to hang up as in alot of cases you can use a stick on a hook rather than a screw-in hook.

So basically if you have a tight budget and are buying purely for practical reasons as in mosquito protection, then you can’t go wrong with a polyester mosquito net. If you want a sumptuous wow factor  in the bedroom and have an ample budget then a cotton mosquito net is for you.
